Teachers, supporters picket outside Multnomah County building

Some Portland parents planned to sit down in the lobby of the Multnomah County building Monday to stand up for the teachers on strike. Teachers and supporters picketed outside of the building. Organizers of the sit-in said they are particularly concerned about the establishment of “class-size committees.” Those committees would give parents a "voice and a vote" in determining appropriate class size, alongside teachers and administrators.
