Salt Lake City School District recommends closing four elementary schools
The Salt Lake School District recommended the closure of four elementary schools during Monday's board meeting: Mary W. Jackson, M. Lynn Bennion, Hawthorne, and Riley Elementary.
This is their initial recommendation to the board; it is not a final decision.
In a report, the district said the board voted to study all 27 elementary schools for potential long-term closures.
