Seattle Public Schools students return as district prepares for a year of change
Madrona Elementary School principal Regina Carter arrived around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday to add some finishing touches to welcome students on the first day of school.
She put balloons around the building and ensured the letters on a message board near the school entrance proclaimed that it was a great day to be a Panther.
