Francisco Alvarez Returns From IL; Tomás Nido DFA'd

The New York Mets have announced that Francisco Alvarez is being reinstated from the 10-day injured list and Tomás Nido has been designated for assignment. Since suffering a torn UCL in his left thumb in late April, Alvarez has completed a number of rehab starts, most notably catching a combined no-hitter for the Brooklyn Cyclones back on June 4.
