DEM: Coyote likely responsible for attacks in Scituate, Johnson was rabid

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The coyote believed to be involved in two separate attacks in Scituate and Johnston last week was rabid, according to the R.I. Department of Environmental Management (DEM). The Rhode Island Department of Health tested the coyote for rabies after a hiker was forced to kill it with his bare hands.
