Atlantic hurricane season 2024 outlook: June 11 update

HOUSTON — Colorado State University has released its June forecast update for what they believe will be a very busy Atlantic hurricane season. On Tuesday morning, they maintained the forecast that they issued back in April. They predict that we could see 23 named storms and 11 hurricanes with five becoming major hurricanes. They blame the extremely warm tropical Atlantic and likely “La Niña” as the primary reasons. On average, the Atlantic sees about 14 named storms each hurricane season. …
